USS Inaugural (AM-242) front hull in HDR. This boat was an Admirable-class fleet minesweeper. The Admirable class was the largest and one of the most successful classes of U.S. minesweepers ordered during World War II. The boat was commissioned between 1944 and 1946 before it was sent to the shores of St. Louis. It broke from its moorings in the 1993 Mississippi River flood and sank just South of the Arch where it still lays today.
